BBC Breakfast is honing in on Dan Walker’s replacement.
Today (May 17, 2022) Dan, 46, said goodbye to his presenting role on the Beeb’s flagship show after six years.

Dan quit BBC Breakfast after he signed a deal with Channel 5 that will see him host the news and present primetime shows.
He penned a £1.5million deal with Channel 5 in early 2022.
The mega-bucks three-year deal will see him host the news at 5pm four days a week – and six hours a year of prime-time shows.
While his successor hasn’t officially been announced, the bookies have already got their favourites (odds according to Ladbrokes).

Jon Kay – 1/2

The 52-year-old has worked on BBC Breakfast since 2010 and often fills in for its main hosts.
Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati told the Star: “It’s looking increasingly likely that BBC chiefs have found Dan Walker’s replacement.
“And he’s no stranger to the Breakfast family, with Jon Kay pulling away from the chasing pack.”
Gethin Jones 7/2
Gethin Jones is the next hot favourite[/caption]Gethin kicked off his career at the BBC when he became a presenter on Blue Peter back in 2005.
The Welsh TV star is also a regular on The One Show.
Gethin also hosts Morning Live on BBC One, which is on straight after BBC Breakfast.
On the radio he previously worked for BBC 5 Live where he hosted a three-hour Saturday morning show focusing on sport and entertainment.

The former footballer kicked off his TV career when he presented a documentary on knife crime for BBC Three in 2017.
He got his big break in 2020 he started co-presenting The One Show with Alex Jones, and by 2021 became a permanent host.
AJ Odudu – 5/1
AJ has seen her star soar over the last 10 years, and is now a much-sought after presenter.
She shot to fame back in 2013 on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, alongside Emma Willis and Rylan Clark-Neal.
Then in 2021 AJ wowed on the dancefloor on Strictly Come Dancing.
